Home Farm Trail

Wimpole Estate in Royston includes a magnificent country house and 3,000 acres of parkland and farmland. Their popular Home Farm champions sustainable practices and land management and I worked with the team to create an interactive trail around the farm to teach families about the incredible work being done there. The trail was anchored by a wayfinding trail leaflet which was associated with a series of wayfinding stations across the site.

Interpretation panels and vinyl in the Piggery and Soane Cattle Yard introduced rare breeds, animal welfare and livestock impact on climate. In the yard I designed custom planters made from tyres and associated interpretation panels showcasing crop rotation and how wildlife and soil health are integral to sustainability. In the Picnic area, a boardgame on the tabletops detailed food production of particular items ‘from farm to table’.

In the Exit Shed we created a feedback station presenting three viewpoints around choices we can all make and a projection onto barn walls showcasing the changing landscape.
